Hair band

Taking a quick break from pep band, seniors Kaysha Ousley and Danielle Morgan clown around in the hall. “I have this weird thing about my hair,” said Ousley, “and she was messing it up.” The impromptu do happened during a girls basketball game against Fordland on Feb. 25.

In annual appreciation of its seniors, MHS held its rose ceremony on Feb. 23. Shown below, senior Jaimie Smith hugs junior Haley Miller. “She gave me the lion,” explained Smith, who thought the gift was very sweet. “She’s a good friend,” Smith added.

Summit Conference Art Contest

Bringing home the ribbons, MHS art students competed in Summit Conference Art Contest on Feb. 13. Winners were:

2nd : Mixed media – Brianna Cubellis

3rd : Water based paints – Robin Barth

1st : Water based paints – Savannah Phifer

1st : Printmaking – Savannah Phifer

Other students attended the contest, including Chance Allen, Macy Allison and Travis Laudecer. Although they did not win ribbons, they did have fun. Shown below are Allison and an impromptu creation. “We built a robot out of Styrofoam!” she exclaimed. “We put it together with hot glue and paper clips.”
